1. What are some uncommon goals that your clients want to achieve, Why?
Some goals are obvious – increase revenue, raise search engine rankings, etc, but clients always have a more subjective reason they hired you, like “I want a site that blows away my competition.” It’s my job to read between the lines and figure out what that is and why it really matters to them.
2. When kicking off a client, what is the first assignment you give them ,Why?
I ask them to define the goal they want to accomplish by working with us. It doesn’t matter how good of a job we do, it won’t be considered successful if it’s not delivering on what the client’s most important goal was in the first place.
3. What elements can create an excellent social media experience that will help convert prospects?
Intimately knowing your prospects and providing them with something valuable.

4. What do you believe to be the most important task you do on a daily basis? Why?
About a year ago I made a decision to read something every day that pushes me forward professionally. Recently a colleague told me I now speak more decisively, have better ideas and approach issues in a completely different way than I used to. That was cool.

5. Which project would you say has been the most intricate or challenging that you have worked on?
I’m currently working on a project that excites, frustrates and confuses me almost on a daily basis. It’s a monster and I love it. Check back in April.

6. Have you ever had to break up with a client? How specifically, did you handle the situation (ending things)?
Ending relationships with clients is never easy, but sometimes it’s necessary. My strategy is just to be honest with them and detail why the relationship isn’t working. Sometimes this has actually saved the relationship by re-aligning expectations for both sides.
7. What is the most important insight of marketing you would give to your clients?
Trust me! You hired me for my expertise and to challenge what you think is the best way to accomplish your goals, but that doesn’t always mean agreeing with you. Be involved, be candid and I promise if you work with me we’ll arrive at the best possible outcome.

8. What do you believe has been your greatest career achievement, Why?
Sometimes I stop to think about the quality of the work our team produces, the efficiency at which we operate, generally how badass we can all be AND the fact that it keeps getting better. It makes me very proud to realize I had a hand in building that over the years even when it hasn’t always been easy or fun.
